Our mission

We study how to balance the need for AI infrastructure with its environmental and social impact. We look at the risks of AI data centers, from energy and water use to military applications and data privacy, and how to mitigate and manage them. We educate students, engage with industry, policymakers, and communities, and build evidence-based approaches to infrastructure that works for people and the places where it is built.
